We provide full training for EMT and Firefighter certifications, ensuring you’re prepared for the challenges of the role. Firefighter/EMT Role

Respond to fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous incidents to protect life and property.
Extinguish fires using equipment and techniques to control and prevent spread.
Locate and evacuate individuals from dangerous situations.
Provide first aid and CPR at emergency scenes.
Maintain firefighting tools, vehicles, and gear for readiness.
Inspect buildings, enforce fire codes, and educate the public on safety.
Engage in fitness, drills, and skill development.
Record incident details for reports and investigations.
Collaborate with responders for effective operations.
The Wayne Township Fire Department is a fully volunteer station, meaning that our members are on-call while at their homes and while going about their daily lives. If you have a heart for our home community here in Wayne Township, Station 11 (Dundee) is an excellent place to give of your time and talents to serve others through EMS and Firefighting.

Membership Process

  • Download and fill out the application
  • Email the application to the fire chief
  • Upon invitation, attend a monthly business meeting.
  • Formal interview with Fire Department Leadership
  • Acceptance/Denial as a New member of Station 11

Requirements for New Members

All new members must undergo training to become an EMT or Firefighter or both – Wayne Township pays for EMT/Firefighter Training Courses.

Minimum of 18 years old to function as a full member.

Pass rigorous physical tests and maintain fitness standards.

Valid Driver’s License

Clean criminal record and ability to pass drug screening.

Interested applicants must reside within Wayne Township in Tuscarawas County, OH

Strong problem solving, teamwork, good communication, and ability to work under pressure as a cohesive team member.

Ability to pass a medical exam to ensure physical and mental health for this role.

All members attend a monthly business meeting and attend monthly continuing education at the station. Additionally, our members actively participate in community events for fundraising and outreach.
